The Twenty Fifth Sunday After Pentecost 2023

We are telling a story by the way we live.  And our neighbors are listening to what the Church says, and they are watching what the Church does, and right or wrong, fair or unfair, they are drawing conclusions about Jesus, based upon the lives of Jesus’ people.  This means that our witness matters, the way we live matters, what we say matters, what we post and share it matters, what we applaud and support, and what we implicitly support by remaining silent it all matters.  Because of Jesus (God in the flesh) the Christian faith is embodied belief, it’s incarnate, it’s an in the flesh, on the ground way of life.  So, our lives are telling a story about the God we love and serve.  On Sunday, we’ll hear the parable of the talents (Matthew 25:14-29).  There Jesus gathers his disciples and tells them a story about what is important, what matters, and how they are to live as his friends and followers in a way that points to the mercy of God.
