Adult Choirs

College-age & older adults are invited to become involved in a small faith community, to participate in worship leadership, & to serve both the church & the local community. 

The Chancel Choir 
Rehearsals: Thursdays, 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.

The Chancel Choir is made up of adults age 18 and above, and serves as the principal musical leadership for Sunday morning services at 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. The group provides a great chance to learn and perform a variety of sacred music, including major works offered at holiday seasons. The Chancel Handbell Choir 

The Chancel Handbell Choir is made up of adults age 18 and above who perform regularly during morning worship services on Sundays in the Sanctuary. The results of their teamwork and preparation is made evident throughout the musical calendar year. Contact Allison Shutt.

Grace Notes 
Meets Tuesdays from 11:15 a.m.—12:15 p.m., with childcare provided.

An adult handbell group that is open to everyone; no experience ringing bells or reading music is necessary. Contact Allison Shutt.

The Matins Choir 
Rehearsals: Sundays, 7:30 a.m.

The Matins Choir is made up of adults 18 and above who meet to rehearse and then immediately perform exclusively for the 8:00 a.m. worship service on Sunday morning. They present a wide range of musical selections to the first service congregation.  Contact Katie Ann McCarty.

"Manbells" Handbell Choir 
Rehearsals: Wednesdays, 7:45 p.m.

The Manbells Handbell Choir is a “male only” organization of those 18 and above who ring on frequent occasions for worship services and special events. Their musical style is varied, representing several types of composers. Best of all, they wear black t-shirts! Contact Rev. Kevin Turner.

The Compline Choir 

The Compline Choir is composed of singers from both DUMC and Davidson College Presbyterian Church who prepare evening musical worship services supporting select church calendar events. The musical style is traditionally a cappella and usually performed in a small chapel environment. Contact Katie Ann McCarty.

The Instrumental Ensemble 

The DUMC Instrumental Ensemble is composed of area musicians who perform select works highlighting special church events or in support of larger choral ensemble works. Its members include string, brass, woodwind, and percussion musicians who range in age from high school students through adults. Contact Allison Shutt.
