Jim holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Master of Divinity from Duke University. Before coming to DUMC in 2019, Jim served as senior pastor to congregations in Charlotte, Huntersville, and rural eastern NC during his ministry career. In his free time, you can find Jim hopping a flight to NYC with his wife Lisa to visit their grandson (Henry), listening to music, or hanging out with his pups. He is also a proud dad to three adult children and says the best part about life right now is being Pops to Henry!
