Pentecost Sunday 2023

Sunday is the Day of Pentecost, the day we remember and celebrate the ongoing presence of Christ with the Church through the gift of the Holy Spirit.  A question Pentecost asks is, what might it mean for us to be a Spirit-filled Church?  Is it simply about a feeling or emotion, or maybe something more?  Luke seems to suggest that a Spirit-filled Church is a place of encounter with God, a place where people experience love, and welcome, and hope, and life in Christ.  A Spirit-filled church, is both a gathered community and a people sent out and empowered to be the body of Christ in the community in ways that reflect God’s desire that all things be made new.
