Each Sunday, we receive and care for many young children in four rooms from 8:00 a.m.—noon. Adult and youth volunteers are needed. Contact Tabitha Lindsay.
Help children learn to enjoy music through singing or ringing by assisting in one of the many choirs. Contact Susan Weathers.
Be a Sunday School Teacher, Substitute Teacher, Hall Monitor, or Preschool Supply Team Member. Contact Menita Mercuri.
Prepare and maintain flower bed outside the Choir Room in the spring. Contact Allison Shutt.
College Student Care Packages
Send cards, letters, and care packages to DUMC college students throughout the year. Contact Rev. Sarah Belles.
Help serve communion on Sunday mornings at the service of your choice. Communion is served every Sunday at the 8:00 a.m. service and the first Sunday each month at all services. Contact Pat Benfield.
Facilitate a small group discussion, starting in fall or winter. Classes/groups may be one-time, short-term, or ongoing; on Sunday morning or any other time of the week. Contact Rev. Linda Zastovnik.
Help plan events for families to get together with other families for fellowship and opportunities to grow together in Christian faith. Contact Menita Mercuri.
Fellowship and Hospitality
Organize opportunities for church members to get to know each other. Contact Heather Smith.
First-Time Guest Outreach
Make welcome calls to first-time guests to help them get connected with our church. Contact Leslie Matz.
Welcome members and guests to church services; answer questions, give directions, etc. Contact Heather Smith.
Serve by ringing during occasional worship services and special services. Open to adults with beginning to intermediate ringing ability. Contact Rev. Kevin Turner.
Proficient instrumentalists of any kind are needed for occasional participation in worship services, concerts, and special events. Contact Allison Shutt.
Jesus The Rock “LIVE!” (JTRL)
Serve at this worship service for Grades K—5 in one of many ways: check in, pre-worship activities, clean up, technology assistant, drama team, props, or puppet ministry (Heather Smith).
Interview and record living history of our older members. Contact Barbara Moore.
Read the scripture at the worship service of your choice. Sign up on the board to the right of the Welcome Center in the Gathering Space.
People of all ages are needed to make DUMC’s Annual Live Nativity an integral part of Christmas in Davidson. Nativity characters, seamstresses, photographers, and people to set up, serve hot chocolate, and clean up are needed. Contact Heather Smith.
An opportunity for singers who prefer a small group and small time commitment. Choir leads 8:00 a.m. Sunday worship service. Rehearse Sundays at 7:30 a.m. and occasional Wednesday nights. Contact Katie Ann McCarty.

Nativity Crew for "Christmas in Davidson"
Nativity characters, seamstresses, carpenters, painters, photographers, and people to set up, serve hot chocolate, clean up, and more. Contact Heather Smith.
Provide care for our infants through age two. We ask parents of children using our nurseries to please volunteer. Substitutes are also needed to fill in when the regularly scheduled volunteer is unable to be with the children. Contact Celia Denham (704-892-8277).
Parking Lot Greeters
Be the friendly face of DUMC by greeting in the parking lot on Sunday mornings. Contact Arron Whittaker.
Take digital pictures of church events, people, and ministry efforts. Contact Rosemary Banks.
Drive our church bus to take our members from The Pines retirement community to/from Sunday School and worship services on Sunday mornings. Contact Jonna Eichorn.
Pray at home using a daily guide for our church staff, clergy, counselors, and lay leaders. You are not expected to pray aloud. Silent prayers of the heart are most welcomed and honored by God! Contact Ann Starrette.
Sign up to spend time in DUMC’s Prayer Room lifting others up to God. Contact Judy Henry.

Keep pew racks straightened and stocked with prayer cards, offering envelopes, pencils, and guest books. Contact Donna Warren.
Saturday Night Worship
Saturday Night Worship takes place at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Sign up here to serve as a Worship Service Assistant (set up and greet), communion server (first Sunday of each month), lector, or Parking Lot Greeter. Contact Cameron Moore.
Help with worship services by operating the sound board. Experience a plus, but not required; training will be provided. Contact Rev. Dr. Glenn Kinken.
Special Blessings Buddy
Hang out with one of our Special Blessings kids during Sunday School or other church events. Contact Menita Mercuri.
Provide one-on-one care to an assigned receiver dealing with loneliness, terminal illness, spiritual crisis, aging, separation or divorce, loss of a loved one, or other life transition. Training provided. Contact Rev. Linda Zastovnik.
Extend greetings to people entering the Sanctuary, hand out bulletins, collect offering, and clean up pews after services. Also serve for special services. Contact Martha Atwater.
Video Camera Operator
Serve on Sunday morning by operating remote cameras and video recording worship services. Experience a plus, but not required; training will be provided. Contact Rev. Dr. Glenn Kinken.
Show warm hospitality to guests and members by answering questions, giving directions to locations in the building, and offering general information as needed. Contact Charlotte Thomas.
Wonderful Wednesday Dinner
Help with set up, serve as a host, and/or cleanup on Wednesday afternoons/evenings from September—March. Contact Dianna Raker.
Worship Service Assistant
Help keep services running smoothly by ensuring key people are present, collection plates are in the proper location, the Bible on the lectern is turned to the right page, and by lighting baptismal and acolyte candles. Contact Bob Reid.
Get to know our youth by working with them, teaching, and/or just hanging out. There are many opportunities available: Sunday a.m. and p.m., Wednesday p.m., and special events. Contact Nic Glyshaw.
